Turn iPhone Photo EXIF and GPS into Excel or CSV

Preview before you export, choose a workflow template, add project columns, and create a spreadsheet you can actually sort, share, and reuse.

Photo2XL is an iOS app that previews selected photos and exports up to 40 metadata fields to Excel or CSV. Photo and spreadsheet processing happens on-device, and Photo2XL does not upload those files to its servers. iCloud-hosted originals may require a network download.

Features

Build a useful spreadsheet before you commit to the export

Photo2XL supports up to 40 metadata and EXIF fields, outputs .xlsx or .csv, and shows a preview before export. Photos and spreadsheet generation stay on-device; iCloud-hosted originals may still require a network download through iOS.

Use Cases

Built for professionals who document with photos

Photo2XL turns the metadata available in selected iPhone photos into a sortable spreadsheet. It supports documentation workflows, but it does not authenticate a photo, establish chain of custody, or decide whether material is legally admissible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about exporting iPhone photo metadata

What photo metadata can I export from iPhone? expand_more
Photo2XL supports up to 40 metadata and EXIF fields, including filenames, dates, GPS, camera and lens details, exposure settings, dimensions, file size, color space, orientation, and more. You choose the fields and their order.
Does it work with iPhone photos stored in iCloud? expand_more
Yes. When required source data is stored only in iCloud Photos, iOS may download it before export. Keep a network connection available and the app open while that work completes.
Can I include photo files with the spreadsheet? expand_more
Yes. You can create a ZIP containing the spreadsheet and selected photo files. For supported images, you can instead request privacy-clean copies that remove location and sensitive camera, date and author metadata. Photo2XL never modifies originals in your Photos library.
How many iPhone photos can I export in one batch? expand_more
The free sample can be used once for an export of up to 3 photos. Photo2XL Pro removes the app photo-count cap. Completion time varies with the device, formats, selected fields, and any iCloud downloads.
Are my photos uploaded to a server when I use the app? expand_more
Photo2XL does not upload photos or exported spreadsheet data to its servers. The app processes those files on-device and requires no account. iCloud Photos may use the network to supply source data. The photo2xl.com website separately uses Google Analytics as described in the Privacy Policy.
Which spreadsheet formats does the app generate? expand_more
Photo2XL creates .xlsx or .csv files with one row per processed photo and one column per selected field. Compatibility can vary by spreadsheet app, especially for CSV character encoding and date display.
Can I choose which photos to export? expand_more
Yes. Three flexible options: export the last 30 days of photos, select an entire album, or manually multi-pick specific photos with numbered selection order. The app shows an estimated photo count before exporting.
Is Photo2XL a subscription? expand_more
No. Photo2XL Pro is a one-time lifetime purchase. The App Store shows your local price before purchase. The free download includes one sample export of up to 3 photos.
What happens to photos that do not have GPS data? expand_more
If a photo lacks GPS data (for example, location services were off when it was taken), the GPS columns in the Excel file are simply left empty for that row. The rest of the EXIF fields export normally. This works the same for any missing metadata field.
Can I customize the column order in the Excel file? expand_more
Yes. Enable, disable, and reorder metadata fields, then add up to 8 custom project columns. The preview shows the chosen structure before export.
What does the SHA-256 manifest prove? expand_more
The optional manifest records hashes and export details for files in the generated package. A later hash mismatch shows that a packaged file changed. The manifest does not authenticate the source photo, establish chain of custody, or guarantee legal admissibility.
